As we navigate through life, some of us may not receive these vital components in adequate measures. This absence can lead to sorrow, feelings of inadequacy, and a distorted self-image. Yet, amidst these challenges lies a glimmer of hope: despite all adversity, can we learn to give attention, justice, and appreciation to ourselves?

Taking oneself seriously is a crucial step in this journey. Embrace the mantra, “I am important to me.” This involves living in the awareness that you are entrusted to yourself. Engage with your feelings and confront the unconscious aspects of your psyche. This self-examination may be uncomfortable, but it is necessary for growth.To truly take oneself seriously, ask: Do I feel that I am important to myself? This simple yet powerful question invites reflection. Consider: “Am I important to myself?” and “May I allow myself to be important?” This inquiry forms the foundation of self-worth. If we don’t recognize our own significance, we risk neglecting ourselves, placing our value solely in the hands of others.

By taking the time to engage with our own feelings and needs, we build a stronger sense of self. This awareness allows us to feel more in tune with who we are, fostering authenticity, a deeper conscience, and an ethical alignment with our true nature. This sense of being fully connected with oneself is the basis for living an honest and fulfilling life.
